You can appreciate the monks’ efforts when you see how they built the Po Lin Monastery with their bare hands. Heritage on the harbour

Discover Hong Kong with our cultural excursion and explore the locals’ way of living.

We stroll along Ap Lei Chau’s lane, admiring the fish catch sold at the street stalls. Our knowledgeable tour guide will take you to Hung Shing Temple, a designated monument dedicated to the God of the South Seas, a deity who protects fishermen and sea traders. It’s one of the few temples in the city still in its original location on the shoreline. Learn about the relic practices of the locals.

Then board the Dukling, an authentic three-mast sailing junk. It was built in 1955 and was home to a local maritime family that lived, worked, ate, and slept on board. Pick up the tales about the fisher folk, experience how to weave a fishing net, and try out how to set sail before ending your journey

Then, as we walked down one of the town’s old streets, Shanghai Street, we saw all kinds of kitchen tools, like meat cleavers, woks, solid wood cutting boards, and bamboo steamers. Then, we whisk to the West Kowloon Cultural District, a complex comprising 40 hectares; that is now famed as an instagrammable spot for the skyline and sunset of Hong Kong.
