Dr. Peter Ngan is the Chairperson of the Department of Orthodontics at West Virginia University and have been the Branson-Maddrell Endowed Professor of West Virginia University School of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics since 1994. His research focuses on growth and development, orthodontic appliance therapy and use of oral implants as anchorage for orthodontic tooth movement. He has conducted much research in these areas and has multiple presentations and journal articles related to completed research in these areas. He particularly enjoy having been the graduate orthodontic program director for 26 years with the opportunity to mentor hundreds of students. He is excited about extending these educational opportunities to the dental clinical faculty, to support and encourage their research and to expand the oral health knowledge base and health outcomes in West Virginia University and beyond. He is particularly suited to work with this team with my expertise in research and background in dental education.
