Call for Abstracts

The Organizing Committee encourages authors to submit their abstracts for presentation at the Hong Kong International Dental Expo And Symposium (HKIDEAS). Abstracts of the below topics are welcome. Outstanding abstracts will be selected by the Organizing Committee for poster presentation.

Mode of Presentation & Criteria

Accepted abstract authors will be invited to present their work in poster format. The posters will be displayed on both poster boards and e-poster machine which are available for viewing throughout the Congress.

The posters will be evaluated by a panel of judges (i.e. the Organizing Committee) based on:

Interest (e.g. Is the content original, important or relevant to the industry?)
Scientific quality and novelty (e.g. How and to what extent are the findings likely to influence clinical or research practice, education or even the Government policy?)
Quality of visual presentation (e.g. Poster layout)
Unique feature to attract the audience (for Most Popular Poster)



Rewards

Each award winner will receive a certificate and a cash award:

Best Poster: US$1,000
1st Runner-up: US$800
2nd Runner-up: US$600

Submission

Deadline: 31 March 2023

The online submission system will close after the deadline.



Preparation Guidelines

Abstracts must be sent exclusively through the website: apdc2023.hk.
Abstracts must be written in English. The word limit is maximum 300 words per abstract.
The content of the abstract should include the following: Title, Authors(s), Presenter, Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion. However, it is not necessary to organize the abstract under different headings.
Type the abstract using single-line spacing with 12-point font. Handwritten abstracts will NOT be accepted.
Please note that no graphs, images, or tables should be included in your abstract.
The title should be in CAPITALS and in bold at the top of the abstract. Avoid using abbreviations in the title.
Type name(s) of author(s) with initials first, e.g. E.Lau. The authors’ name should be followed by the details of the institutions (Department, Institution, Country).
Accepted abstracts will be published on the Congress website and in the official programme book. By submitting your abstract, the submitter consent to give APDC / HKIDEAS the permission to publish it.
Submissions do not comply with the requirement will not be considered.



Confirmation of Receipt and Notification of Decision

All submission will be acknowledged on receipt. Please contact the Congress Secretariat by email abstract@apdc2023.hk if you do not receive the confirmation email.

Notification regarding status of your abstract will be sent out by mid-April 2023. Information for the preparation of poster will be sent together with this notification.

The Organizing Committee has the right of the final decision on the acceptance of an abstract.



Registration of Poster Presenters

All authors / presenters must register and must attend the congress in-person in Hong Kong. They are responsible for their own congress registration fees (early-bird rate) and travel expenses. If the registration fee is not received by the deadline (exact date is to be determined), the abstract will be considered as being withdrawn.
