Professor Gary Cheung graduated with BDS in 1985, MDS in Conservative Dentistry (with distinctions) in 1987, both from HKU, and MSc in Endodontics degree from the University of London in 1991. He was the founding president of the Hong Kong Endodontic Society in 1996. Dr Cheung obtained his PhD degree at HKU in 2007, and was promoted to professor in 2011. He is currently an Associate Dean of the Faculty, as well as the Supervisor of Training for the Specialty Board in Endodontics of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong. Professor Cheung holds the Fellowship of various academies and colleges, including those in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australasia and Scotland, and is currently the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education at HKU Faculty of Dentistry. He runs an intra-mural private practice on a referral basis, publishes over 150 articles and book chapters, and lectures extensively both locally and overseas.
